JetLite is the new name of erstwhile Sahara Airline. The airline has its base at IGI Airport, New Delhi and operates from various hubs such as Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkatta, and Ahamadabad. JetLite connects over 26 destinations in India covering major cities and tire 2 and tire 3 cities as well.

As being the part of Jet Airways group, this low-cost domestic airline in India brings professionalism in affordable price.

JetLite Flights stand distinctively with its peers due to its top class service combined with tight punctuality.

The JetLite is the first airline to stop complementary food on aboard in order to reduce the fare.

However, it offers variety of food stuff onboard on payment basis for those who opt for it.

This helps the passenger to not shell out money for food stuff compulsorily.

JetLite origin can be traced to Sahara Airlines. The Sahara Airline was established by Sahara Pariwar, a strong Lucknow based industrial group. Sahara Airline started its operations in December, 1993 with couple of Boeing 737 200 aircrafts.

Initially the operations were restricted to north Indian destinations such as Lucknow, Patna, and Delhi.

Then gradually the airline extended its services to other cities after acquiring more aircrafts. In October 2000 the name was changed to Air Sahara and in March 2004, the first international destination was started in Chennai-Colombo sector.

In January 2006, the present owner, Jet Airways made its first bid to take over Air Sahara abating necessary permission from Director General of Civil Aviation, the regulator of civil aviation in India.

However, the deal could not be materialized due to disagreements over prices and other issues.

This resulted in major court battles between two parties and lasted up to April 2007 when the settlement was reached. Jet Airways agreed to pay a huge sum to Air Sahara and renamed the new airline as JetLite.

JetLite fleet include 24 aircrafts consisting Boeing 737 800, Boeing 737 700, Being 737 400, Boeing 737300 and CRJ 200 ER Bombardier.

JetLite also operates Helicopter service as well consisting of Ecureuil Helecopter and Dauphin Helicopter as charter services.

JetLite aspires to become one of the most preferred domestic airlines in India by offering world class service in affordable price.
