Kingfisher Red is the one of the low-fare domestic airlines in India. It belongs to famous industrial house UB Group, headed by Mr. Vijay Mallaya.
Kingfisher Red was previously known as Deccan Airlines, India’s first low-cost domestic carrier.
Air Deccan was originally promoted by Capt. G.R. Gopinath in 2003. The maiden flight was started from Hyderabad to Vijayawada.
“SimplyFly’ was the tagline of the airline and in short span of time Air Deccan has become popular among traveling public as an affordable airline due to its cost effective fare structure.
Air Deccan was the first one to cover second tire cities such as Mangalore, Hubli, Visakapatnam and Madurai.
However, the original promoter did not sustain the turbulences of economic rough weather; the airline was continuously running on heavy losses. In April 2008, Air Deccan was taken over by Kingfisher Airline group as Vijaya Mallaya as its CMD.
The new management renamed it first SimpliFly Deccan and latter on as Kingfisher Read. Kingfisher Red aims at becoming the most preferred domestic airline in India.
Presently, Kingfisher Red flights fly around 58 destinations in India. One of the main strength of Kingfisher Red is that its flights are scheduled in such a way that saves precious working hours for traveling public.
For example early morning flights start from 5.15 that enable the business passengers to start the journey early in the morning and reach the destination before office opening times.
The same way late night flights start as late as 11 PM so that the traveler can catch the flight after completing all his works without wasting any time.
