All Nippon Airways was established on December 1, 1957. This emerged owing to the coming together of individual airlines, Far Easter Airlines that was founded on 26 December, 1952 and an air company established on 27 December, 1952, Nippon

Helicopter and Aeroplane. All Nippon in 1961, made its debut on the Osaka Securities Exchange and the Tokyo Stock Exchange. In the same year it acquired permit to operate international flights, the moment it was permitted to operate flights from Okinawa that was under the US military control.

This air service merged with Fujita Airlines in 1963. In 1964, it initiated jet services with Boeing 727, and in 1969 Boeing 737 came into service.

Over the time, Nippon began giving airline shares to travel companies and thereby made travel deals.

The first international flight of All Nippon Airways emerged in 1971, and took to Hong Kong form Tokyo. Until then, JAL enjoyed the monopoly over international scheduled flights.

All Nippon Airways in 1975 inaugurated its headquarters in Tokyo and its foremost international flight was in March 1986 comprising of passenger service to Gaum from Tokyo and also had All Nippon Airways flights flying to Washington and Los Angeles in the same year.

In 2007, All Nippon acquired the title ‘Airline of the Year’ from the monthly trade magazine of the airline industry, the Air Transport World.

All Nippon Airlines is one of the premier Japan airline networks headquartered at Shiodome City Centre Zenniukku.

Its main international hubs are in Osaka at Kansai International Airport and outside Tokyo at Narita International Airport. Tokyo International Airport, New Chitose International Airport and the Chubu International Airport are the major domestic hubs. It has nearly 207 airplanes and also operates small carriers.

This airline offers services in Japan to 49 destinations and 22 international routes. In May 2009, they had 14,179 as employee strength.

This is one of the international airlines in India as it covers various destinations in South Asia, besides Europe, Japan and North America.

The airlines also offers services to India, South Korea, Thailand, France, UK in Europe, Vietnam in Asia, Singapore, and many more.
