Asiana Airlines was launched on 17th February, 1988 and is based in South Korea at Seoul. It initiated its operations in December in the same year.
Besides, it is one of the major airlines following Korean Air in South Korea.
The main hubs of Asiana Airlines are located for domestic flights at Gimpo International Airport and for international flights at Incheon International Airport.
This airline was launched by a South Korean conglomerate, the Kumho Asiana Group and was the decision of South Korean government’s policy to develop additional flag carrier.
Originally, Asiana Airlines was named Seoul Air International. However, from the time of its inception, it has shown expansion at a rapid pace becoming a global carrier of mid-sized having a fleet of 69 aircraft.

It is aiming to modernize the travel classes into first, business and economy class respectively. Owing to this, they have altered the colors as first class with yellow, business class with blue and travel class with red color. The airline also has new refreshing design for its cabin crew.

Air Asiana Airlines was named for 2009 Airline year Award. This award was received on 17th February on their 21st Anniversary and COO Young Doo Yoon; their president said the credit of this success goes to their staff.
However, this international airline in India is the foremost Korean representation with other industry giants namely, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Lufthansa and Air France.
