Japan Airlines (JAL) is the national flag carrier of Japan and is one of the largest airlines based in Asia.

The major international hub is Narita International Airport and domestic sector is operated from Tokyo International Airport.

The headquarters of this airline is located in Shinagawa in the city of Tokyo, Japan. JAL runs scheduled as well as charted services for domestic and international destinations.

Japan Airline flights cover all major cities across the continents offering world class services.

The origin of Japan Airline can be traced back to 1951, when Japan Airlines Company Limited was established.

The Japanese government decided to establish a reliable transportation system in the country in order to reconstruct its economy devastated by Second World War.
s
The Japanese parliament passed an act in 1953, for creating a state owned airliner, Japan Airline (JAL). The first international service was started in February, 1954, between Tokyo and San Francisco. During 1972, the JAL was recognized as the flag carrier and was fully privatized in 1987, allowing competing with other private airliner Japan Air Systems and All Nippon Airways, in both, domestic and international sectors.

During 2001, Japan Airlines and Japan Air Systems agreed to merge and as a result the new entity name Japan Airline Systems was established in October, 2002.

This helped the new company to consolidate their resources to become world’s third largest airliner in terms of revenue earned and sixth largest airliners in number of passengers served.

Japan Airlines own many subsidiaries including JAL Cargo, JAKways, Hokkaido Air System, J-Air, Japan Air Commuter, Japan Transocean Air and Ryukyu Air Commuter. There subsidiaries provide varieties of services including Cargo movement, low-cost flights, feeder services, etc.

Japan Airlines flights serve various destinations around the world including Asia, Europe, North America, South America, Africa, and Oceana.

In India, Japan airline flights originate from Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore and Kolkatta connecting Tokyo, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Shanghai, Beijing, Seoul, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago and Honolulu.

Japan airline has earned a reputation for its prompt and customer friendly services and has become one of the most favored international airlines in India.
