Graha

Graha plays a significant role as per Indian astrology in the life of any individual. The graha refers to the nine planets and nodes.

The nine grahas are the sun (surya), moon (chandra), mars (mangal), mercury (Budha), Jupiter (brihaspati), venus (shukra), Saturn (shani), north lunar node (rahu) and south lunar node (ketu).

The subsequent positioning of the grahas and the constant movement in one's life determines the future and present events for an individual.

The planetary positions are the study of graha and this is one of the essential prerequisite of the Indian traditions, especially the Indian Hindus. The Hindus consider the graha movements and its position while performing any event or ritual such as marriage, housewarming or even before starting any new business.

The grahas are studied by astrologers who look into each graha and give a clear signal recommending proceeding or suggests simple corrections. In case, the astrologer finds it unsatisfactory, he rejects it straightly based on the assessment of the planetary position of the horoscope of today.

As per Graha in Indian astrology, the Sun is the creator of all other bhutas. The other name of sun is Aditya and sun is referred to as the auspicious planet. The friendship between sun and Jupiter is saatvik that is the relationship is pure. The relationship of the sun with moon is rajasic and it is tamasic with mars.

Moon is also known as Chandra and is associated with the unconscious habits, emotions, rhythms, memories and moods. The moon is the presiding deity of water and controls the sea tides. Mars is a planet and is a warrior by nature. Bravery, courage, self-confidence, patience and the abilities of leadership are governed by mars.

Mars also makes such people argumentative, short-tempered, soldiers, commanders and policemen. Mercury governs writers, traders, artists, lecturers, teachers, businessmen, the lungs and the nervous system. Jupiter rules moon and the sun as well as controls the planets movements. Jupiter is the teacher of astronomy and Vedic astrology.

Venus is the planet that is enemy to Jupiter. Saturn is bad, cold and dry causing failure, distress, nervousness dejection and sorrow. Saturn completely damages the house, but when it is well-placed it showers success, fame, justice, honor, wisdom, love, authority, leadership ability and long life.

Rahu rules the witches, thieves, venom, snakes, jails, cemeteries, magicians, hypnotists, etc. Rahu can make an enemy a friend. Ketu replicates mars but only the negative side. The Grahas are considered to rule the astrological world and every individual.
