Vastu meant a dwelling place. Constructing a house should be done by considering Vastu sashtra to lead a happy and peaceful life.

Vastu for home is very important as each aspect of the house, from master bedroom to kid's room; puja room, stairs, bathroom, garage and kitchen have great significance.

There are specific directions that are recommended to be appropriate and following it helps in enjoying the stay life long.

Kitchen, the most important place of a home should be in South-east or it can be positioned in the North West as well.

Anything that pertains to heat or fire as per Vastu for home is best installed in the south east corner.

Dining room is apposite towards the west. Puja room as per Vastu for home is considered to be appropriate in the North east direction.

People worshipping should face east and none of the idols should exceed six inches height. Sleeping in the puja room is not right. Vastu for home indicates wealth and cash is best stored facing north.

Jewellery should be kept towards south as it increases. Even, heavy machines or equipments and old goods can as well be stored in south direction. Bedroom positioned in south is appropriate as north direction brings unrest. The head should be towards south and inmates should never take meals in the bedroom as it indicates suffering due to bad health and especially sitting on the bed and eating is a sign of ill health. Bathroom should be in the east or North West, but never in the north east. Geyser should be positioned in the south east corner. Study room is ideal in the North West. Similarly, the land purchased should be such that the length is not over twice the breadth. The land of your house should not be a dead end. Speaking of the main gate, it should open outside the house and the doors within the house need not be noisy. The doors and windows should be even in number. Staircase should have steps that are divisible by 3 and a balance of 2 should be obtained.
