This company located in Trichur and Pune India was founded in 1975 and registered as a company the following year. It’s very first plant was commissioned in Perambra while the second one was in Limda.

This automobile company India manufactures and sells automobile products like Tubes, Tyres and Flabs to Pakistan, South America, South East Asia, Africa and the Middle East. This company offers services for Trucks, Buses, Passenger cars, Farms, and alloy wheels. Ever since this company was started, Apollo tyre has offered new services almost every 3 years. In the year 2000, it established a health care clinic where HIV-Aids patients can get awareness and medication.

In 2003 it expanded passenger car radial to about 6,600 tyres a day. The following year it produced India’s first H-speed tubeless tyres. As you can see this company has literarily been growing every year.

It was the first Indian tyre company to open exclusive branded outlets, introduce packaging for cars and two wheeler tubes and tyres. Offered the first radial tyres under the farm category and was the first to get an overseas acquisition.

This company was also the first to reach a revenue of US $1billion and receive ISO certifications for all its operations. This company’s cooperate history is full of accomplishment year after year. Apollo Tyre has an outstanding financial record and in the years 2006 - 2007, it registered a turnover of Rs. 42.9 billion. That same year it had net profit of Rs 1.1 billion.

Since this company is growing it now has 4 manufacturing units in India, 2 in South Africa and other 2 in Zimbabwe. In India alone it has 4500 dealerships of which 3000 are exclusive outlets while 230 are multi brand Dunlop accredited dealers found in South Africa and Zimbabwe.

Apollo Tyre keeps aiming higher and in 2008, they announced plans of opening a manufacturing plant in Hungary. Apollo Tyre has been a pioneer when it comes to implementing “Six Sigma” among India’s Tyre companies. Today it is in the list of the top 15 tyre manufacturing companies in the World in terms of Revenue.
