The company has massive business global interests in the farm equipment, automotive, trade, logistics, financial services, IT industries among others.
Over the years, Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd has expanded its operations to having a global presence through various subsidiaries like Mahindra USA Inc., where it has three assembly plants, Mahindra Europe Srl. based in Italy, Mahindra (China) Tractor Co. Ltd, and Mahindra South Africa.
The company has also partnered with other international automobile companies such as Renault SA and International Truck and Engine Corporation to help build its international presence.
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd was originally intended to produce general-purpose utility automobiles. The company was first best known for assembling the Willys Jeep that was popular in India. Thereafter, the company expanded its production base to include agricultural tractors and light commercial cars, and finally growing to be one the largest automobile company’s in India.
Presently, Mahindra & Mahindra is leading the sports and utility vehicle sector in the country with its trademark automobile, the Scorpio. M&M's The automotive division of M&M makes different vehicles such as LCVs, MUVs, three wheelers and others. The company offers more than 20 models, and among them are the new generation general-utility cars such as Bolero and the Scorpio.

In April 2007, Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd India made its debut in the passenger automobile segment when it launched the Logan. With the name Mahindra International, this leading automobile company in India also intends to enter the heavy truck segment under a venture undertaken together with International Truck, a company based in USA. Mahindra and Mahindra was recently rated one of the top 10 automobile companies in India, by The Reputation Institute, US.
