Madras Rubber Factory, or MRF Ltd, is India’s leading vehicle tyre manufacturing company, and they are located in Chennai.

MRF Typers was established in 1946, with the manufucture of ballons, industrial gloves and latex squeaking toys. In 1961, the company moved from producing these products and moved into the production of tyres.

Today, MRF TYRES, is India's number one tyre producing company in six manufacturing plant across India. This leading automobile company also exports its tyres to more than 75 countries.

MRF has numerous business interests that place it in a league of its own. Its six production plants are located in Kottayam in Kerala; Ponda in Goa; Tiruvottiyur and Arakonam in Tamil Nadu; Medak in Andhra Pradesh. The most recent plant is in the Union Territory of Pondicherry.

The MRF Ltd India has a distribution network of more than 2,500 distributors throughout India as well as having offices in Bangladesh, the United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam. As a leading company in the automobile industry in India, MRF produces the broadest range of tyres in India.

The company also enjoys very high brand preference for the superior quality, appearance, and durability of their tyres. This has enabled MRF to gain a large percentage of the tyre market in and outside of India.

In addition to manufacturing tyres, MRF have entered into various collaborations with other global leaders like Hasbro International USA, which is the world's largest toy maker. They have a toy production plant in Funskool, India, Vapocure, Australia, for the manufacture of polyurethane paint formulations; and Pirelli in Italy for Conveyor & Elevator Belting.

The progressiveness and commitment to producing quality products has seen MRF Ltd being selected time and again as OEM fitment by almost all major car manufacturers in India. The company has indeed emerged as a leading automobile company in India having been designated as one of the top ten leading companies by the Far Eastern Economic Review.

A & M, a leading Advertising and Marketing journal in India has voted MRF as one of the most admired Marketing Companies; while J.D. Power Asia Pacific, ranked them first in 2001 and 2002 for Customer Satisfaction. Business World, a leading business magazine has also voted them as the most ethical company in India.
