The Enfield Bullet Electra 5s
The Enfield Bullet Electra 5S has been launched in 2009 by the Royal Enfield.
It is a member of the Enfield’s Classic category, “a modern reworking of the old legend, taking its styling cues from the simplicity of the original 1950’s machine and combining the celebrated design and heritage with technological innovations of today”.
In addition to the well known superior features of engine performance, transmission phenomena, electrical accessories and structural dimensions, the eye-catching color scheme of Electra 5S made it real “classic”.
The 4 stroke, single cylinder, 346 cc engine provides a very smooth and stable ride. The engine generates a power of 18 HP @ 5000 RPM and a torque of 32 Nm @ 3000 RPM providing its rider a tremendous excitement in riding and one of the most sporty and stylist powerhouses on two wheels, suitable for Indian roads.
The air cooling system regulates the engine oil temperature at sustained high speeds and rpms ensuring stable engine oil viscosity. Other special transmission features of this bike are 70×90 mm bore ×stroke, carburettor. micarb VM 24 fuel system, OHV fuel control, transistor coil ignition (TCI) system, both the electric and kick starter and 5-speed gear box.
Among the physical dimensions seat height of 800 mm, overall height of 1080 mm and ground clearance of 140 mm provide a very comfort ride to the riders.
Other physical measures like overall length of 2120 mm and wheel base of 1370 mm made it rugged and suitable for Indian terrain.
Telescopic Hydraulic Damping front suspension with a travel of 130 mm, rear suspension of type Swing Arm with adjustable and Gas filled Shock Absorbers with a suspension travel of 80 mm give a better shock absorbing performance in rough terrains.
For safety, the bike is having single disc front brakes with a diameter of 280 mm and expanding type rear brakes. The top speed of the bike is 100 km/h.
