Suzuki India

Suzuki, also known as Maruti Suzuki was founded in February 1981. It was initially known as Maruti Udyog Limited but in September 2007, Suzuki Corporation, Japan bought acquired majority shareholding in the company and thus changed its name to Maruti Suzuki.

The headquarters of the company are in Gurgaon which is next to Delhi. Suzuki India was the first company to mass produce as well as sell over 1 million cars.

This made it the leader in the automobile industry in production as well as revenue. Suzuki is widely credited for bringing a revolution in the automobile industry in India.

Suzuki has two facilities that have a capacity of over 700,000 units per year. The two units are situated in Manesar and Gurgaon. This is the biggest and most profitable automobile company in India and in the financial year 2007-2008, it sold over 750,000 cars. Out of this number, only about 53,000 were sold outside India.

The first Maruti car was produced in 1983 and since then, the number of this car on Indian roads has grown tremendously, reaching over 6 million today. Maruti Suzuki cars have continually increased to be popular around the world and this has made India to be the 4th largest exporter of vehicles.

Suzuki, through its subsidiary Maruti Export Limited, exports cars to Morocco, Uganda, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Angola, Benin, El Salvador, Djibouti, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Europe.

Suzuki’s Customer Service
Suzuki has come up with new innovative products that are intended to help it boost its car sales. There are more that 2,600 franchises around the world that are intended to ensure Maruti cars are professionally serviced.

In India, there are 30 Express service stations that are important to customers who may be stranded on the major highways in the country. This is one of the innovative service products that other automobile companies have been unable to provide to customers.

Maruti Suzuki India initiated Maruti Insurance in 2002 to provide insurance cover to buyers of Maruti cars. Also, Maruti Finance was established to help customers buy Maruti vehicles through loans and in effect help increase the company’s sales.

If you have a Maruti vehicle and want to have a newer model, there is Maruti TrueValue, which is a market for Maruti vehicles that are already used. At this market, you can exchange, buy or sell your Maruti car. For nearly a decade now, Suzuki has been acknowledged for offering customer satisfaction.
