Amrita Rao is a promising bollywood actress who was born on June 17th  1981. She was born in Chitrapur, India for her father Deepak Rao.

This bollywood celebrity descends from a family called Chitrapur Saraswat Brahmin in Karnataka. She is able to speak Hindi and English in addition to her mother tongue Konkani .

Hot celebrity India Amrita Rao, attended high school in Mumbai and after that she went after her studies to earn a degree in Psychology. During her first year in college she had an audition to perform a facial cream brand called Facever. She won the commercial among 60 other actresses and after that she contributed in other commercials as the Cadbury and Ru coffee.

These commercials made her a known face for the media and directors began to chase her to act in films. Amrita Rao refused these opportunities as she wanted to complete her study. After she finished her Psychology studies, she began her career as an actress.

Her first appearance was on 2002 with a film called Ab Ke Barras but it was not so popular. On 2003, she performed in her first successful film called “ Ishq Vishk” after that she continued in 2004 with the same success with 2 films called Mashti and Meen Hoon Nah . After that her curve went down and she contributed in several moderately successful films during the period of 2004 to 2006 .

On 2008 she regained her momentum with the major international hit called Vivah. Amrita Rao performance in that film was recognized by critics all over India. The bollywood actress is now one of the most popular actresses in India and she recently started appearing in a film in Tollywood with the Telugu language.
