Anushka Sharma, a well known actress in Bollywood, made her debut in Hindi Film with film, Rab Ne Bana Do Jodi and after that she acted in many blockbuster movies.

Early Life:

Anushka was born on May 1, 1988 in Bangalore, Karnatka, India, belongs to a middle class family from Garhwal, Uttarakhand. Her mother’s name Ashima Sharma, a house wife and father Ajay Sharma is an army officer. She completed her schooling from Army School and graduated from Mount Camel College, located in Bangalore.

Modeling Career:

After completing study, Anushka made her way to Mumbai with a great dream to become a model. However she worked hard and eventually converted her dream into reality by getting an opportunity to appear in Lakme Fashion Week. After that she did modeling for various other brands like Silk & Shine, Whisper, Nathella Jewelry and Fiat Palio.

Filmy Career:

Anushka was still not satisfied with her achievement and craving to get into Bollywood. Finally the good time arrived when she was approached by Aditya Chopra, a well known Bollywood director, for his film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi alongside Shah Rukh Khan. The film promulgated a blockbuster and paved a way for her.

After that she became permanent actress of Yash Raj films and appeared in many movies that got mixed response. Her second movie was Badmaash Company, produced by Yash Raj Films, released on 2007 got mixed response.


However her appearance with Shahid Kapoor was liked by audience at great extent. In 2010, Anushka was slated to be a character for Band Baaja Baaraat, produced by Aditya Chopra and directed by Manish Sharma. The film introduced Ranveer Singh and witnessed its huge box office success.


She was even nominated for Filmfare Best Actress Award for her best performance and Ranveer Singh was awarded with Filmfare Best New Comer Award. Anushka recently appeared in movie Patiala House, alongside Akshay Kumar. The movie was directed by Nikhil Advani and failed to lure audience.
