Family background
Asha Parekh was born to a Hindu father and a Muslim mother in a middle class Gujarati household on 2nd October, 1942 in a place known as Mahuya located in Bhavnagar district.

The bollywood actress has undergone a strict religious upbringing that featured worship of Sai Baba. She was the only child making her easily become a favorite child to her parents.

Academic life and career
Asha Parekh attended Indian Classical dance classes where she excelled at music and dancing making her appear in private functions and stage shows in the region. Her first career in the acting industry was as a child actress in films such as Aasmaan where she took the role of Baby Asha. Unfortunately, her role in the movie was not successful as the film did not meet expectations.

Later film directors saw Asha Parekh perform splendidly and made her act in various movies including Baap Beti. The bollywood actress went back to serious acting when she was only sixteen years of age. She featured in various movies such as Dil Deke Dekho though this was after she had been written by other directors in the film industry. She was put under directions of directors like Nasir Hussain, who helped her follow her star.

The success of the bollywood celebrity made her proceed to feature in other movies such as Phir Wohi Dil Laya Hoon, Pyar Ka Mauam and Jab Pyar Kisi Se Hota Hai.
