Personal Information:

Asin Thottumkal is popularly known as Asin who got huge fame in Bollywood and Kollywood for her heart winning performance. She made her debut in Bollywood with film, Ghajini alongside Aamir Khan and well recognized for her acclamation performance and won Filmfare Best Female Debut Award.

Besides that she made her debut in Telugu film with Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka in 2001, but got recognition with Telugu film Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi in 2003.

Early Life:

Asin was born on October 26, 1985 in Cochin, Kerala in the family of Joseph Thottumkal and Seline Thottumka. She went to Naval Public School and completed 10th standard. After that she attended St. Teresa's School, located in Kochi and completed her 12th standard. For higher education she took admission in St. Teresa's College for Women, Kochi and completed her graduation in English.

Early Career:

At the age of 15, Asin made her way towards glamour world to make her career and keen to become an actress. She was offered a role in Telugu film Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka in 2001. Unfortunately it became fail to attract the audience and declared a flop film.

However she earned fame in the form of Filmfare Award for Best Actress in 2003 for Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi. Asin became huge popular for Ghajini, starring Surya and Nayantara and honored with Tamil Filmfare Award for Best Actress.

Bollywood Career:

Asin was keen to join Bollywood as an actress and did lots of work to make it possible. She got major breakthrough in the form of her character for Ghajini, a remake film of same name, alongside Aamir Khan in 2008.

It was a blockbuster film that witnessed highest gross revenue and made her popular overnight in Hindi film. After that she was slated to be a character for a film, London Dreams in 2009 alongside Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan.

Asin recently shared screen space with Salman Khan in film, ‘Ready’ and got huge acclamation for her brilliant performance and item number.

Her upcoming project is ‘Bol Bachachan’ that will be produced by Ajay Devgan and directed by Rohit Shetty. Though the releasing date has not been disclosed yet, it is expected to release in 2012.
