Farhan Akhtar is popularly known as a Bollywood director, producer, script writer and actor. He proved his multi talent by making his directorial debut with film, Dil Chahta Hai in 2001.

It was commercially super hit movie that made him popular director. He received Filmfare Award for Best Director. Besides that he directed two other successful movies, Lakshay and Don.

Early Life:

Farhan Akhtar was born on January 9, 1974 in Mumbai India in the family of Javed Ahtar, a veteran script writer and lyricist and Honey Irani.

His step mother is Shabana Azmi. Besides that his twin sister Zoya Akhtar, made her directorial debut with Luck By Chance. In the movie he appeared in lead role.

Filmy Career:

Farhan Akhtar launched him as a director with Dil Chahta Hai, produced by Excel Entertainment PVT Ltd. It was a multi starrer film that became huge hit and helped him to earn huge fame.

The film not only liked by Indian audience, in fact it made crazy to international audience. It was awarded with National Film Award for Best Feature Film and Farhan also won Filmfare Best Director Award.

He then came with his next flick, titled Lakshay, starred Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta in 2004. But the movie was unfortunate for Farhan as it did not do well as much as expected.

Farhan then made Don, The chase Begins Again, starred Shah Rukh Kahn, Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor, in 2006. The film earned huge success at the box office and he again proved his best talent. He then directed a short film Positive, based on HIV stigma.

He then launched himself as an actor and made his debut with film, Rock On in 2008. After that he did many films like Luck By Chance, Karthik Calling Karthik, and Zindagi Milegi Na Doobara. Besides that he provided his voice for films Rock On and Zindagi Na Milegi Doobara
