Personal Information

John Abraham is one of the most popular actor in Bollywood, who acted in many films and delivered wonderful acting skills. He did modeling before getting into acting, became a famous model and associated with several brands.

After that, he made his way towards Bollywood and also made his debut in film with Jism, co-starring Bipsha Basu, in 2003. After that he was slated in different characters in many movies like Dhoom, Zinda, Water and Baabul. John received many prestigious awards like Filmfare Best Debut Award and Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Early Life

John Abraham was born on December 17, 1972 in Mumbai Maharashtra. His father was Malayali, worked as an architecture and his mother named Firoza Irani belongs to a Parsi family. He has a younger brother named, Alan.

John completed his schooling from Bombay Scottish School in Mumbai and MBA from Mumbai Educational Trust. He was spotted with popular Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu many times and stepped into a long term relationship. However, they announced their separation in 2011.

Career (Modeling and Acting)

Abraham started his career as a model, first appeared in a video song Surma and signed a deal with Time and Space Media Entertainment Promotion Ltd., besides, he participated in several contests.

John won Gladrags Manhunt Contest in 1999 and then participated in Manhunt International in Philippines where he grabbed the second place. After that he appeared in several other music videos and commercial advertising.

Abraham finally moved to Mumbai to try his luck in Hindi Film and got a wonderful opportunity to make his debut with film Jism, a thriller film, directed by Pooja Bhatt and released in 2003.

The film explored huge response from audience and declared as a super hit film. He then made his appearance in various other movies like Saya, Paap and Lakeer- Forbidden Line. He then dropped into a role of Kabir in Dhoom, a Yash Raj Films, released in 2004 and made a wonderful record at the box office.

He then Showed his versatile talent in Garam Masala, became huge hit at the box office, and proved his comic talent. After that, John was slated to be a role for a controversial film Water, based on tragic fate of Hindu Widows.

In 2008, John again worked with Abhishek Bachchan in Dostana, co-starring Priyanka Chopra and produced by Karan Johar.

He recently appeared in Desi Boyz that did wonderful at box office. His upcoming projects are Housefull 2, Race 2, Dostana 2.
