Kareena was born in the year 1980 on 21 September in Mumbai to Randhir Kapoor and Babita. Her elder sister is Karishma. She comes from a family that has generations in films right from her great grandfather, Prithviraj Kapoor and Raj Kapoor her grandfather, her uncle’s Shammi, Rishi, Shashi and Rajiv, her Aunt Neetu Singh, Sadhana and Jennifer.

Childhood
Kareena did her schooling in Juhu and enrolled in Welham Girls School in Dehradun. She took 3 months IT course in Harvard and joined Churchgate Law College and the next year enrolled in Kishore Namit Acting School. Randhir, her dad wanted his daughters to stay away from films and acting as per their family tradition. In fact, this divorced their parents and both sisters live with mom. She loves cooking and horseback riding

Film career
Kareena debut film was Refugee in 2000 with Abhishek Bachchan and went on with many more movies. 2007 year she gave her best in Tashan, Kismat Talkies and Lajjo. Her Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham was the highest-grossing film in 2001 bringing biggest commercial successes. Her portrayal in chameli as a sex worker was the turning point in her career and was acclaimed Dev (2004) and Omkara (2006).

Kareena did Golmaal returns and received mixed reviews. Kambakkht Ishq was her next film not reaching success; her next film Kurbaan gave her a Filmfare nomination for Best actress. In 2010 she was in Milenge Milenge. In 2011 with Salman Khan in Bodyguard she received success and did Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, to be released this year by March. She is filming in Heroine and Talaash as well.

Awards
Kareena won awards for her performances in Chameli, Refugee, Omkara and Dev. She is Top Bollywood Actresses as of rediff.com 2006. Her mannequin is in England Madame Tussads. She received Filmfare Award in 2007 for Jab We Met performance and also acquired critical acclaim in 2009- 3 Idiots. She is also a stage performer and is the brand ambassador for chain Globus.

Diet
Kareena’s diet includes momos, paranthas, pasta, cheese and bananas. Her yoga keeps her fit.
