Lara Dutta

In 2000 Dutta was crowned as the Miss Universe and led to her appointment as the Goodwill Ambassador of the UNFPA in 2001.

Early Life
Lara Dutta was brought into the world on April 16, 1978 in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh in India, Dutta’s father Mr L K Dutta who is now retired worked as a Wing Commander while her mother Jennifer Dutta was a singer for the Doordarshan radio, Jalandhar.

Dutta has two older sisters of which one of them is working with the Indian Air Force and a well recognized younger sister.

Dutta completed her high school in Bangalore in 1981 at St. Francis Xavier Girls High School and graduated in economics and communications from the Mumbai University.

In 1997 Dutta won the annual Gladsrags modeling competition and emerged as the first Indian representative at the Miss Intercontinental and later in the year 2000 Lara was crowned as Miss Universe which took place in Cyprus and Femina Miss India Universe. Dutta scored a maximum of 9.99 marks in her finalist interview of which she broke the history of the Miss Universe Contest.

Acting Career
In 2002 First Dutta primarily signed to perform in the Tamil film Arasatchi of which and the movie was not released as it was intended to be released in the mid 2004, due to financial problems. In 2003 Dutta made her debut with the film Andaaz which succeeded and made her win the Filmfare Best Female Debut Award. She later appeared in number of films of which some topped in 2004 to 2007 in the India Television.

The actress Lara Dutta has some interesting projects that she is doing as she is launched her Magazine second issue known as Filmfare at the Vie Lounge, Mumbai. Ever since she started acting she has received mixed reviews for her performance which made her become a hit.
