Lisa Ray
Lisa Ray is an Indo-Canadian Hollywood actress who is also a fashion model in India.
Early Life
Lisa Rani Ray was born on April 4th 1972 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
She has a father who is an Indian and a polish mother.
Lisa grew up in the suburb of Etobicoke Toronto where she attended three different secondary schools and learned for five years and excelled. She loved to watch movies with her maternal grandmother and the father.
She started modeling after an agent spotted her in a crowd during a family vacation she had attended in India at the age of 16 years and she first appeared on an advertisement for Bombay Dyeing wearing a high-cut black swimsuit and drew the public attention.
While on her return to Canada where she was supposed to join university and study journalism, they were involved in an accident of which her mother was injured and changed her plans of joining the university and returned back to India.
She continued with modeling and she appeared on the magazine Glad Rags wearing a red Baywatch style swimsuit. She continued to appear in numerous and different Indian magazine top covers.
Film Career
In 1994 she appeared on the first Tamil movies in the film Nethaji where she only acted in as a minor character.
After acting in the minor parts in various movies, the hot celebrity began her Bollywood acting career in the film Kasoor in the year 2001 where her voice was dubbed because the celebrity could not speak Hindi of which her part in the film attracted one of the producers Deepa Mehta who incorporated her in the romantic Indian-Canadian romp in 2002.
Lisa worked again in 2005 with Mehta in the film Water and she spoke her lines in Hindi and ever since she has worked in productions from USA, Europe and Canada.
The Bollywood celebrity played a Christian-Arab lesbian in 2007 one of the film which was inspired by the novelist Joel Rose and released in 2008
