Meena kumari also known as Mahajabeen Bano has been a hot celebrity in India movie as an actress and poetess since 1st August 1932 to 31st March 1972.

She is one of the prominent actresses to have ever appeared in Hindi cinema.

Meena Kumari started acting 30 years ago since she was born until when she died. She performed in more than ninety films that have all achieved classical and cult status in today markets.

The bollywood celebrity was the third daughter of Ali Baksh and Iqbal Begum; she was the sister to Khursheed and Mandhu being the last born in the family.

When she was born her parents were unable to pay delivery fees of Dr Gadre so she was left at Dr Gadre Muslim orphanage, but they picked her from there after few hours. Kumari’s father was a Sunni Muslim, he used to perform at Paris theatre, he played harmonium, taught others music and he also used to write Urdu poetry.

Meena Kumari though as a bollywood celebrity she became addicted to alcohol and this affected her career as a bollywood actress, she was also involved in troubled relationships and in the end she died in 1972 from liver cirrhosis.
