Birth
Bhanurekha Ganesan is an Indian actress who has appeared in Bollywood films, was born on 10th October 1954 in Tamil Nadu, India.

Rekha was born from parents who were both superstars in the industry of film Mr Gemini Ganeshan and actress Pushpavali.

Personal life
Rekha used to spend most of her time in her parents studio which became her second home as most of the time her parents were in the studio working on their movies.

Career
Rekha started at a tender age of 13 years even though she did not know how to speak Hindi due to her quickness she managed to learn Hindu within three months and dancing in one month. In 1970 she appeared in the first film of which made Rekha an insignificant entity in the Bollywood with nothing but moderate success to her credit.

Rekha turned to be a smart girl and with the help of make over she underwent amazing training in the early 1980s both physically and mentally, transforming her from a plump, darkish and also-ran sort of leading lady to an athletic sexy looking damsel.

This quick transformation boosted her image as a bollywood celebrity that she became as a superstar number one for almost a decade. The transformation also boosted Rekha’s image and enhanced her acting capabilities. The part that gives her fame and is memorable is the one that she acted as a court dancer.

She later teemed up with Amitabh Bachchan who entered her personally and professionally in acting of which they released more movies that continued to hit in the Hindus screen.

Rekha has so far acted in over 20 films with his husband who is also a superstar in the industry of movies. Rekha has so far won six awards and been nominated thirteen times as the best actress in India.
