Bollywood is a large ocean where one can find whales of prominent actors, actresses, directors, musicians, singers and producers and also other less known fish such as technicians, staff, etc.

There have been many bollywood musicians and each one of them is known for their own distinct style. Kalyanji and Anandji were perhaps the first prominent musicians in Bollywood.

They approached music more like a hobby than a profession. Both of these talented people were simple and gave their very best to bollywood.

Laxmikant-Pyarelal is another famous name among music directors who rocked from the movie ‘Parasmani’. They assisted Kalyanji and Anandji before setting out on their own.

He was trained by his father, Nabadwip Chandra Dev Burman, and then by Ustad Badal Khan as well as Bhishmadev Chattopadhyay. He remained as the most sought name along with Shankar-Jaikishan, R.D. Burman and others for quite some time.

Ismail Darbar is a bollywood musician who hailed from a family boasting of four generations of musicians. He was initiated by his father, Husian who was a noted saxophone and clarinet player.

Ismail Darbar later learned violin and music from Pandit Ramprasad Sharma, the father of Pyarelal. Bappi Lahiri is a synonymous name in Bollywood. He was born in a musical family.

Initially trained by his parents, he got his first opportunity in a Bengali movie. A.R. Rahman is a bollywood musician who is the one of the most well known Indian figures in the world.

He has redefined contemporary Indian music. With the recognition of two Oscar awards, he is absolutely the idol for several young people.
