Exit interview are conducted with employees before they leave the company.
The main aim of this interview is to know the reason for leaving the company. Exit interviews are an opportunity to understand the experience from the employee departing so that the new replacement can hold the same.
Good exit interviews yield useful information, evaluate and improve the working environment, systems, culture, development and management.
This determines the relationship with the employer and the staff.
Departing employees usually give good and objective feedback.
How to face
Face your exit interview kicking your emotions at the backstage. This is a serious business and needs tactful handling.
Start your interview in a direct and casual tone. The usual question you have to face is on reasoning why you are quitting the job. Avoid explaining much about the new company you are going and the remuneration package.
Employer’s Role
An employer will mostly do the exit interview directly to know the reason straight from his mouth, if the employee is an asset. This is done to stop him or her from quitting. The employer asks for best and worst experienced and also seeks feedback and suggestions.
