Festivals in India- Id-Ul-Fitr
Id-Ul-Fitr is prominently known to be the festival celebrated to break the fast.
This festival is celebrated at the Ramzan end so that the Muslim fasting month comes to a closure.
This is a festival for feasting as well as rejoicing. Fitr means breaking as well as the other meaning represents alms.

Id-ul-fitr comes at the end of the pious month of the Islamic calendar. The prophet Muhammad put the Allah’s words about the Ramzan month and wrote it in the holy Quran.
This is followed until now and the last day of Ramzan is celebrated as the Id as it strengthens the bond of brotherhood. The fasting is observed strictly such that right from the sunrise in the morning they do not take any food until the sun set. They do not drink water or even swallow saliva. They do it with sincerity and lots of devotion. |
