Demands of the Indian agricultural industry
India as one of the most populated nation has almost 60 percent of its population directly involved in agriculture industry.
Today India still remains the second major agricultural producer of the world and Agriculture in India shares almost 17% of the Gross Domestic Production and thus plays a major role in the economy in India.
Agricultural industry is under tremendous pressure to deliver the growing needs as the population is growing at a steady pace where the farm production is not so balanced.
This industry is affected by various factors like failed water input due to climatic and political reasons, crop loss due to inclemently rain , wind or drought,
Though agricultural in India has a long history and still at large areas the farmers do not use the modern technologies in farming.
The modernization of agriculture in India is happening in a very slow pace despite the green revolution which could bring modernization in Indian agriculture Industry. In the days of GM Foods and Organic Foods taking people from around the world to two different extremes, Indian farmers found themselves in the middle path for a long time.
India is the world’s second largest producer when it comes to rice and wheat. When it comes to production of tea, milk, cashew nuts, black pepper and ginger India leads the world as the largest producer.
The demands of the Indian agricultural industry mostly related to availability of water at the required time period, new inventions to increase the productivity, financial assistance from the government t an attractive interest rate, grading, standardizing, rural marketing, research, modernization and adequate quality storage and preservation.
Agriculture in India is expressing greater demands for the allied industries to hold, preserve and timely delivery of the fresh produce as most of the product losses in the perishable produces are happening because of lack of refrigerated storage, farmer’s direct access to the end users and the size of the market.

India has a great potential to become the worlds largest agricultural producer through continual development in the research and developments, infrastructural developments and crop protection schemes. If all these reasonable demands of the Indian Agricultural industry are met then India will make sure all the areas of the Agriculture in India will develop from inside and achieve the optimum production and thus improve the Economy in India.
