Windows mobile is advance handset that works on windows operating system and the first operating system for mobile phone was developed by Microsoft.

Pocket PC 2000, runs on Windows CE 3.0, was launched on April 19, 2000. The device gained much popularity and it is a mini computer that can easily fit into pocket and one can use it every where.
It included several CPU architectures; SH-3, MIPS, and ARM and the operating system used in the device was much similar to Windows Me, Windows 98, and Windows 2000.
The handset Pocket PC 2000 features various other important applications like Windows Media Player, Pocket Excel, Pocket Word, Pocket Outlook, Pocket Internet Explorer, and many more.
Pocket PC 2002, was announced in October 2001 and it was very similar to previous version (Pocket PC 2000). It used Windows CE 3.0 and the device was similar to windows XP. It contained various features like Pocket Outlook, Microsoft Reader 2, MSN Messenger, Virtual Private Networking support, Digital rights management (DRM), and more.
Windows mobile 2003, was launched on June 23, 2003, with four editions; Premium Edition, Professional Edition, Pocket PC Phone Edition, and Windows Mobile 2003 for Smartphone. The new version was equipped with several applications like MIDI file support, Windows Media Player 9.0, Pocket Internet Explorer, Pocket Outlook with vCard and vCal support, Pictures application and many others.
Windows Mobile 5 was powered by Dell Axim x5 and included NET Compact Framework 1.0 SP3. It introduced several upgraded features like PowerPoint, Graphing capability, Windows Media Player 10, Photo Caller ID, Bluetooth support, Default QWERTY keyboard-support, ActiveSync 4.2, and various others.
Windows 6 was introduced in three different versions such as Windows Mobile 6 Standard Smartphones, Windows Mobile 6 Professional (Pocket PC), and Windows Mobile 6 Classic (Pocket PC).
The device included various latest applications such as Office Mobile support, HTML email support in Outlook Mobile, Storage Card Encryption, Enhanced Microsoft Bluetooth Stack, Windows Live, Remote Desktop access, and many such features.
