Tourist Visa

A visa is required to enter Nepal except for Indian Nationals. It can be obtained for 15,30 and 60 days from the Royal Nepalese Consulate. A single entry visa for 15 days costs USD 15 per person and for 30 Days it costs USD 30 Per Person. A double entry visa valid for 30 Days costs USD 40 Per Person. A multiple entry visa with a validity of 60 Days cost USD 60 Per Person.

For extension of visa, the Department of Immigration charges a surplus fee of USD 01 Per Day Per Person is charged.150 Days is the maximum number of days one can stay in Nepal in one year. Children below the age of 10 Years need not to pay any visa fee. To obtain the extension you will need valid passport, one passport size photograph and the visa extension form duly filed and signed.

Department of Immigration

The immigration office in Kathmandu is located at the Tridevi Marg, Thamel. Visa extension and trekking permit applications are accepted by the reception counter from 10 AM to 01 PM from Sundays to Thursdays and from 10 AM to 12 Noon on Friday.

Visa extension applications may also be submitted to the Immigration office in Pokhara that is situated between the airport and Lakeside. The office also handles trekking permits for the Annapurna Region.
