CHINA INSTRUCTIONS FOR VISA APPLICANTS :
Businees visa
Business Visas shall be granted to those who
wish to visit India for the purpose of trade, short-term
project work and business related activities. Following
categories of Business visas are issued:
(a)
Six months Multiple Entry Business Visa: can be granted
on a letter of invitation from a “Recognized Indian
Organization" i.e. from recognized Chambers of
Commerce or industry associations or other trade bodies,
public sector undertakings, government-approved joint
ventures, liaison offices or private sector companies
who are members of a recognized chamber of commerce
or industry association or other trade body, along with
a copy of the Certificate of Incorporation of the Indian
Company or Pan Card in the name of company or small
scale registration certificate or shops and establishment
certificate issued by the local State Government and
a Guarantee letter from the Chinese company.
Note: Applicants
issued 6 month Multiple Entry Business visa shall not
stay for more than 90 days on each visit.
(b)
2 months Single Entry Business Visa: can be granted
on producing a letter of request from a “duly
authorized Chinese organization" i.e. from Ministries
and Commissions of the State Council, the Governments
of all Provinces, Autonomous Regions and Municipalities
directly under the Central Government, Foreign Offices
and Bureaus of Economy and Commerce there under, Departments
and Units recognized by the Department of Consular Affairs
of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s
Republic of China and CCPIT along with a copy of the
Certificate of Incorporation of the Indian Company or
Pan Card in the name of the company or small scale registration
certificate or shops and establishment certificate issued
by the local State Government and a Guarantee letter
from the Chinese company.

(A)
3 months Single Entry Employment Visa for opening Representative
Office in India: can be granted on presentation of a
letter of approval issued by the Government of India
for opening the office with a copy of terms and conditions
thereof to Chinese nationals visiting India as Head
and Deputy Head of a representative office of a Company
or Organization.
(B)
3 months Single Entry Employment Visa for employment
including for contracted projects: can be granted on
production of approval letter by the project contacting
authority in India, letter of appointment, terms &
conditions of appointment, proof of his/her previous
employment, short profile of experience/expertise in
case of his/her first employment and no criminal record.
Note:
Employment visa is issued only after approval from concerned
authority in India, which may take 6 to 8 weeks.
(C)
Single Entry 3 months Entry Visa to Employee’s
accompanying family members: can be granted on presentation
of documentary proof of relation with the employee and
a sponsorship letter from the employer.
Note: The
employees and accompanying family members after their
arrival in India shall apply directly to Foreigner’s
Division, MHA for Visa extension, residential permit
and multiple entry & exit within 30 days after arrival
and 30 days before the expiry of the 3-month period
of the initial visa granted.
(D)
3 months Single Entry Tourist Visa to non-accompanying
spouses/children/relatives of Employees: can be granted
on production of an invitation letter from the employers.
Note:
Tourist visa shall be valid for entry into India by
the Visa holder from the day of issue of the visa.
(E)
1 month Single Entry Conference Visa: can be granted
on presentation of an invitation letter from the host
organization in India.
Note: Conversion
of business visa or any other type of visa into employment
visa is not permitted. Chinese nationals desiring to
do so must return to their country of permanent residence
and apply to the Indian Embassy/Consulate for Employment
Visa furnishing all relevant papers required for grant
of employment visa
Student visa
(A) 3 months Student Visa (for self-financed
study): may be granted on presentation of a letter of
admission from a recognized educational institution
and proof of finances to cover to and fro journey and
their stay in India.
Note: Students
after their arrival in India shall apply directly to
the Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt of India for Visa
extension, residential permit and multiple entry &exit
within 30 days after arrival and 30 days before the
expiry of the 3-month period of the initial visa granted.
(B)
Student Visa (under cultural/education exchange programme):
can be granted for the full period of residency in India
on presentation of a letter of authorization from the
concerned Government body
tourist visa
(A)
3 months Single Entry Tourist Visa: can be granted on
presentation of a confirmed return air-ticket and proof
of Bank deposit of RMB 10,000
(b) Group Tourist Visa: For group tourist
visas (four or more), the application has to be supported
by documents from the local tour operator arranging
the trip and its Indian counterpart and should contain
the detailed itinerary. Four copies of Group tourist
applicants are also required.
Note:
Tourist visa shall be valid for entry into India by
the Visa holder from the day of issue of the visa.
Visa for
forgein national
For all categories of visas, applicants must be in possession
of the Foreigner Resident Permit (Green Booklet issued
by the Public Security Bureau) or Alien Employment Permit
(issued by the Labor Department). The passport must
have a validity of at least six months. The application
form must be duly completed and signed by the applicant
himself/herself. For business visas, visitors should
submit a letter of invitation from the concerned Indian
Company.
Short term visitors to China, or those not in possession
or Resident Permit Cards, may also apply for visas to
India if they have not, for any reason, been able to
do so at an Indian Mission in the place of their normal
residence. They need to pay an additional Yuan 100.00
towards telex/fax charges.
Issue of such visas
will take a minimum of 4 to 5 working days.

Note:
All foreigners including
foreigners of Indian origin visiting India on long-term
(more than 180 days) visas will be required to register
themselves with the concerned Foreigner’s Regional
Registration Office (FRRO) within 14 days of his/her
arrival.
