MADRID INSTRUCTIONS FOR VISA APPLICANTS:
Tourist Visas
Description
- All visas are valid from the date of issue. Minimum
validity of 6 months.
- The purpose of the visa cannot
be changed later.
- Cannot be renewed
Requirements
1. Visa Application Form
2 . Three passport size photographs.
3 . The passport, in original, which
must be valid for more than the period of the visa applied
for. For example for a 6 month visa the passport should
be valid for more than 6 months.
4 . The corresponding fees. (see fees
in "Fee Charges")
5 .Copy of Residence Card, if applicant
is not a Spanish national.
NOTE: To visit Sikkim,
the north east of India, and other restricted zones,
a special permit is required, see."Special Permits"
Method of obtaining the Visa :
Completed applications with all the necessary documentation
can be sent in the following ways :
1. By hand:
All documentation can be given in
the working hours of the Consular Section from 9:00
to12:30.
The visa can be gathered in the Consular
Section. Previous phone confirmation/Fax confirmation
(913451900), can be made between 14:30 and 16:30.
2. By post:
The fees have to be sent by Giro
Postal only , DO NOT INCLUDE MONEY IN CASH NOR CHECKS.
The application must be accompanied
by a self-addressed envelope with sufficient stamps
affixed on it to enable us return the Passport through
Correo Certificado. (Stamps must be affixed on the self-addressed
envelope. We DO NOT accept cash for buying and putting
stamps on the self-addressed envelope). Usually, 2.50€
is required to send 1-2 Passports. For returning more
Passports, we suggest that the applicant affixes the
required stamps in consultation with the Post Office.
Those who want their passport to
be returned by Postal Express, should attach a special
Postal Express envelope with the fully filled-in corresponding
Ticket stuck on that envelope. The special Postal Express
envelope can be bought by the Applicant ONLY in the
Post Office.
3. By messenger service:
All documentation must be delivered
in the working hours of the Consular Section from 9:00
to 12:30.
The visa can be gathered in the Consular
Section. Previous Phone/Fax Confirmation (913451900)
can be made between 14:30 and 16:30.

messenger to recollect
Note: Checks are not accepted.
Fee Charges
6 months tourist visa: 50 €
1 year tourist visa: 80 €
Telex/Fax charges from nationals of European countries
who do not have Spanish Resident Permit : 20 €
Telex/Fax charges from nationals of non European countries
who do not have Spanish Resident Permit : 22 €
Urgent fee: 43€. The Embassy of India reserves
the right to accept or reject Urgent cases.
