GENERAL INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS:
REQUIREMENTS
FOR ISSUE OF INDIAN PASSPORT AND MATTERS CONNECTED THERE
WITH
1. Applicants should
be in possession of a valid Indian Passport. New Passport
can be issued to applicants within six months of the
validity of their existing Passports.
2. The landed Immigration
Paper, in original, and one photocopy must invariably
accompany application for new Passports.
3. Applications for
fresh Passport should be submitted with 4 Passport size
photographs, one of which should be notarized by a Notary
Public. In the case of application for issue of duplicate
Passport in lieu of a lost/damaged Passport, the application
for a duplicate Passport should be accompanied by 8
Passport size Photographs one of which should be notarized
by a Notary Public. One photo must be embossed by a
Notary Public.
4. Applicants who
have been landed Immigrants in Canada for a period of
3 years or more should give a declaration about their
holding Indian nationality.
5. Applicants who
were wearing turban before and now clean shaven or vice
versa are required to submit a copy of declaration regarding
change in their appearance duly verified by a Notary
Public along with the applications for fresh Passports.
6. If the applications
for a new Passport has been presented more than 6 months
after the expiry of the present Passport, the application
should be accompanied by an Affidavit explaining reasons
for delay.
7. For change of name/addition
or deletion of surname, the applications should given
sworn affidavit and publish notices in a local newspaper
of the area in which they are residing and a newspaper
of their permanent address in India.
8. Application for
change in Date of Birth are not normally accepted.
9. Application for
new/duplicate Passport must be complete in all respects.
Incomplete applications will not be accepted and may
cause delay in processing applications.
PASSPORT
FEES.
1. (i) Ordinary Passport
containing 36 pages with a maximum validity of 10 years,
(no extra fee will be charged for renewals up to 10
yrs if initial validity is less) 65.00
(ii) For Issuing passport booklet containing
60 pages. 85.00
2. Ordinary Passport containing 36
pages with a maximum validity of 5 years for minor children
below the age of 18 yrs. 45.00
Special Travel Document
3. Emergency certificate 10.00
4. Certificate of Identity with a maximum
validity of ten yrs. 35.00
5. Additional ordinary passport booklet
containing 36 pages for any country under the provision
to rule 13 up to initial validity of one year (no extra
fee will be charged for renewals up to 10 years) 65.00
Renewals of Travel Documents
6. Renewals of ordinary passport with
an initial validity of 5 years for a maximum validity
of 10 years (The renewal fee will be charged in one
lump sum once only even though period of validity may
be less than five years depending upon discretion of
passport issuing authority or according to instructions
from Government authorities. 35.00
7. Renewal of Emergency certificate

8. Additional endorsement or other

Duplicate Passport and other documents in Lieu of Lost
or Damaged Documents:
12. (i) Issue of duplicate
passport containing 36 pages in lieu of the ordinary
passport on the ground that it has been lost, stolen,
damaged, destroyed or for any other such reason. 205.00
(ii) For issuing duplicate passport
booklet containing 60 pages. 230.00
13. Issue of duplicate Emergency Certificate
or certificate of Identity in lieu of the Emergency
certificate on the ground that it has been lost, stolen,
